Work Parties.
Work Parties are a part of the club culture and are an ideal way to not only contribute to the club, but are also a great way to catch up with like-minded people. The Club asks that each active senior member contribute two full Work Party days per year, however for those who cannot contribute to a Work Party day, there is an annual fee of $400 (or $200 if you manage only one Work Party day). This levy is to help cover the running costs of the Club. 1 work party day comprises of 8 hours work, or 2 x 4 hours per day if you are a weekend volunteer during the season.
5 Work Party days earns you a seasons pass.
Note: A minimum of two summer Work Party days must be completed (to add to three winter Volley days) to earn a season pass.
You need to be a paid up, active member to do summer Work Party days or winter Volley days or to earn a season pass. Note must be used the following year (unless by prior arrangement with the committee).
Here's the breakdown of what each Work Party day is worth.
Doing 0 days costs you a $400 levy
1 day = costs you $200 levy
2 days = nil levy ** See below for what else you can get after doing only 2 Work party days **
3 days = nil levy
4 days = nil levy
5 days = earns you a Seasons Pass (minimum 2 days in summer).
Children and Juniors don't pay Work Party Levies but Juniors are welcome to do 5 Work Party days to earn a Seasons Pass.
Note that if you do 3 or 4 days but don't manage a 5th, your extra days cannot be rolled forward to the following year.
The cut off for summer work party days to offset work party levies is at the end of the summer work parties (generally Apr/May). Any winter Volley days cannot account towards current summer's work party requirements so if you haven't done enough in the current summer, then you need to pay a levy instead, then start again with winter Volley days which go towards the following year.
When you reach the milestone of being a paid up member for over 10 years, you earn the title of having 'Grandparent Status' and you qualify for NOT having to attend work parties or NOT being charged a Work Party Levy.
It is worth continuing as a paid up non-active member if you are in a period of time when skiing as an active member is not possible.
If your membership lapses or has been unpaid, then achieving the 10 year milestone is affected.
